Elk Stew Meat is cubes cut from various hard-working muscles. It has excellent flavor, but needs to be slow cooked to become tender. Often used to make stews with beef or veal stock and/or red wine.
Elk is a very flavorful game meat, similar to beef, but with a clean, slightly sweet taste and distinguished by its deep red color. It is a healthy alternative to conventional beef as it's very low in fat and cholesterol and high in zinc and iron. Free range, 100% vegetarian feed, no hormones or antibiotics. Because Elk is so lean, it will cook faster than beef.
